I really appreciated Lotus Kang's focus on continuous change through her use of large-scale film within this show. It highlights a transience similar to the one I have explored for so long, in looking at material with an elevated importance, especially in the face of a growing dependence on digital technology in the creation of art.
Kang asks us to regard the physical with a sort of reverence here, forcing us to contemplate change, permanence, and impermanence in a way which does not seem to come naturally in this age -- everything seems to me so permanent and so temporary at the same time. She highlights this feeling not unlike ennui through pairing her film strips with these small metal objects.

The Biennial as a whole was really impressive, I'd like to do a longer post about the whole thing but know I probably will not. This work stuck to me, though.
